Dancer Attendance & Participation

Classes meet once a week, please make every effort to schedule appointments around your child’s classes. Lifetime events and sickness with a doctor’s note are excused.  A show is a privilege and identifies a student is ready. Students are not allowed to miss 3 days of one class and still perform in the December or  February performances.

Attendance is essential for every student’s growth. If a student is chronically late or absent, they will compromise their skill level and miss learned choreography. Teachers do not make up for absent students.

HADM produces two shows and one end of the year recital. Students with more than 3 unexcused absences from class will not participate in that upcoming show.

If HADM closes due to inclement weather/snow cancellations, we will make up the missed class(es).

If a student misses the first 15 minutes of class he/she can observe, 3 tardies equals an absent. In the case of an upcoming show, if a student is late, their participation is based on the teachers discretion. Chronic tardiness will equal an unexcused absence.   If the door is locked, the class is closed. Every time the door opens, time is removed from other students.  Teachers observe the right to lock the door after the first 15 minutes of class.

Participation in full & staged rehearsals are relevant to position formation changes and intro/exits. If your child misses full rehearsal, their position in a formation is subject to change.

For the June recital, the choreographer/teacher reserves the right to omit a student out of choreography they were not present to learn.
